| Maybe they should have realized two nations of 1 billion each industrializing = higher fuel demand, which in turn = higher fuel prices, which = putting all your eggs in the fullsize pickup and SUV basket is a bad and dumb idea. But then again they were making such obscene profit off that market by fleecing good ole dimwitted americans who were convinced (for the most part) that they just HAD to have these vehicles, which they didn't need, due to some sort of status symbol association, that the big 3 just couldn't pass up "getting it" while "the getting was good" even if the writing was all over the wall (although likely written in japanese). I have no sympathy, I just hope Corvette gets sold to an interest that will preserve it before GM bastardizes it.
